Simon & Garfunkel – Bridge Over Troubled Water

My introduction to Simon & Garfunkel was an unconventional one. It was during the movie “Old School” and Will Ferrell’s character gets a horse tranquillizer to the neck and eventually falls into the swimming pool. As he’s drowning the most beautiful song starts to play….”Hello darkness my old friend”. The harmonies are breathtaking. I instantly fast forward the VHS to end credits so I can find out this song. The next few weeks is basically me soaking up every Simon & Garfunkel song I can get my hands on. Bridge Over Troubled Water is a masterpiece without a doubt. It took hundreds of hours to record and it sold millions but it also brought the end of them as a band. Although the did reform in later years, this was them at their creative peak. An Important addition to my top 50.

This video is part of my Top 50 Albums on a ukulele project, if you enjoyed it why not check out some other classic albums that I arranged for ukulele. Like Nirvana – NevermindRage Against The Machine – Debut Album or The Eagles – Hotel California.
