I like many others have a real soft spot for Post Malone. His genre-splitting music is heaven to my ears. He stands out from the current crop of Hip Hop stars that have introduced a singing/rap style to their sound. You can tell he is a songwriter at heart and knows his way around a beautiful melody. The stand-out track on Beerbongs and Bentleys is Ball On Me. It’s a lush instrumental that Nicki Minaj sets on fire with a verse. I wanted to give it a bash on the uke and this is what I came up with.
The arrangement mimics the synth chords at the beginning, then a few licks of Post’s vocals and finally that killer synth lead during the chorus.
