This week it’s time for Suck It And See. The band’s 4th album. There are very few bands who make a truly great debut album. Over the years I could say The Doors, Oasis and this lot. What they each have in common is that subsequent albums have shown a development of the band. Whatever People Say was brilliant, but in the end, it is all about nights out in Sheffield. Humbug showed a development in the writing and this album takes that forward. There are 2 things I particularly like. One is that Alex has clearly raided his dad’s (or uncles or someone) record collection from the 60’s. The other is that this is a no-nonsense collection of 12 great tracks that are easy to access.
