Hold the phone, I just realised this is the first time I have played some Bob Dylan on the ukulele. How on earth has that happened. I listened to his music so much as a teenager. Back when CD shops were a thing I would spend a lot of my time in them pursuing albums. One in particular (Virgin Megastore) would do a 5 CDs for £30 deal. I would go in blind and just pick albums I liked the look of. One of them was The Free Wheelin Bob Dylan. I kinda miss them days ya know. Spending money on music, I feel like I listened to it differently. I felt more compelled to listen. Does anyone else feel that way?
What Are We Learning To Play?
Below is a video of what you will be able to play by the end of this post.
I have tried my best to tab this out and make it as assessable as possible but in all honesty, found it difficult. I have always found Bob’s songs hard to play as they don’t seem to follow any kind of conventional timing. I feel the same way about the way he sings, it’s hard for me to sing along as It sounds like he comes in and out in an unnatural way.
With that being said, I have written down every note I have played. So listen closely and play it super slow until you get the hang of it.
