Eat My Uke

Ben Howard – Every Kingdom

I got this album after a friend introduced me to Ben Howard in 2012. It couldn’t have come a moment too soon. I found myself simply sitting in a room listening–doing nothing else, but enjoying the music floating over me. To be frank, I was astonished. I haven’t had an album impact me in that way for years. e’s been described as a folk musician, but there is so much variety in the tracks, his songs don’t fit neatly into any category. There are echoes of Fleetwood Mac, though the artist he reminds me of most is Damian Rice. If you want to be soothed, stimulated and moved, check out this album. Within a couple of plays, you’ll find the songs are lodged in your memory as if you’d known them forever.

This video is part of a project I’m working on. I’m learning to play my favourite albums on a ukulele. If you enjoyed it why not check out some other classic albums that I arranged. Like Damien Rice or Simon & Garfunkel

Not sure how to read these? Check out this guide and you will be learning these ukulele tabs in no time.

old pine

I had to transpose this so it could be comfortable playing on the uke. So its played 5 semitones down to the original. You won’t be able to play along to the song but it still sounds great on its own. I’m also using a low G to get them deep bass notes.

the wolves

Here we are mimicking the vocal line, the “oh oh oh oh ohhh oh” at the beginning.

only love

This is a mash-up of the acoustic guitar parts and Bens vocals.
