I just recently arranged the new Arctic Monkeys album The Car and this is one of the standout tracks. It transposes really well on the ukulele and isn’t super taxing to play. So let’s jump in and learn to play it.
What Are We Learning To Play?
Below is a video of what you will be able to play by the end of this post.Â
Ukulele Tabs
Although I don’t do it in the video above, I later realised that this riff is much easier to play if you form a chord at the start.
You need to place your index finger on the 8th fret of the A string. Your middle finger on the 10th fret of the C, then your ring finger on the 10th of the E. This is going to give us the first three notes of the riff.
Then use for your index finger for the next 2 notes on the C string and your pinky finger for that 10th fret on the A. Getting back into the original chord will make it nice and easier to hit that last 10th fret on the E before we start it all over again.Â
A|-8-----------10------|-8-----------10------|
E|---10-------------10-|---10-------------10-|
C|------10-9-7---------|------10-9-7---------|
G|---------------------|---------------------|
A|-8-----------10------|-8-------------------|
E|---10-------------10-|---------------------|
