No doubt about it, this is an anthem. I just caught the tail end of the Blur vs Oasis thing, so I never was quite able to have a strong opinion on who I liked more. I just loved them both, to be honest. Regardless of that, this is a banger and the intro riff sounds fantastic on ukulele. Let’s learn to play Blur’s “Parklife” on the ukulele.

What Are We Learning To Play?

Below is a video of what you will be able to play by the end of this post.

Ukulele Tabs

This arrangement is all based around an E major chord. I’ve got an easier way to play it that I think you’ll love. This guide I wrote on how to play the dreaded E chord might come in handy here.

Start by barring the 4th fret with your pointer finger, then use your pinky on the 7th fret of the A string. Give that one down strum, then mute the strings on the next strum. To achieve that muted sound, gently lift your fretting fingers off the chord and use the palm of your strumming hand to “mute” the strings.

After that, play an up strum followed quickly by a down strum, then another mute. Repeat that pattern twice.

The last section is probably the most complicated bit. Remove your pinky from the 7th fret and play an up strum. Then use your ring finger on the 5th fret of the E string and 6th fret of the G string to create a new chord, and down strum that. Play those two chords again and end on a down strum while barring all the strings on the 4th fret.
