Joji and the uke go together like white toast and salted butter. He uses one a lot in his songs, but even when he doesn’t, they translate remarkably well. Let’s learn to play “Will He” on the ukulele.

This tab is split into two parts. We have the fingerpicking that’s used throughout the entire song, then I’ve tabbed out part of the vocal melody which sounds pretty cool.
Let’s start with the chords. We’re opening up with a Dsus4 chord. Use your index finger on the 2nd fret of the C string, middle finger on the 3rd fret of the E string, and your pinky on the 5th fret of the A string. Simply pluck each note once.
Then we have another variation of the D chord—a D5. I would barre this one and use your pinky on the 5th fret again. Go back to the first chord, then we end on exactly the same shape but starting at the 9th fret.
Next we have the vocal melody. This is really straightforward and slow, but it’s playing high up the neck so it could be tricky on a small soprano ukulele. However, you could use this interactive fretboard I created to find the notes it’s using and locate other places to play them on the neck.
