This is another one of these songs that always seems to be on the greatest riffs of all-time lists. Lyrically the song is about somebody who has just been fired and is struggling to find replacement work. Very much the sentiment for a lot of people from Birmingham in the UK in the 80s. It wasn’t my era of music but I can see how it would have resonated with a lot of people around that time. Let’s learn to play it on the ukulele.

It’s a very straight forward riff which makes it super to play on the uke. Due to us playing it low down on the neck, you can play it on any size uke comfortably too.
This is a good chance to stretch our fingers and use our pinky by using it to Hit the 5th fret on the E string.
