SZA – Good Days

Good Days

For me, SZA is one of those artists who’s name I have seen on so many songs. Yet I had never actually listened to her solo music. That all changed when I heard the beautiful instrumental for Good Days on Tik Tok recently. It’s a gorgeous chord pattern that’s elevated with some delay. Let’s learn to play it on the ukulele.

What Are We Learning To Play?

These tabs are from a video I made for my Tik Tok account. I was exploring how important the delay effect is on this song. If you would like to play the song with delay too. You need to use a dotted 1/8th note to get the sound.

Ukulele Tabs

It’s important to note that I’m using a low G for this song. You can play it with a high G too but it does lack the deeper notes.

Although it looks complicated, its actually a straightforward fingerpicking pattern. You can make it easier on yourself by getting your hands prepared. Use your first finger on the E, middle finger on the C and your ring finger on the G.

All you need to do is use your pinky for the 4th fret when you move on to the next chord. Then lift your first finger off the C string and drop it down to the A string for the 3rd section. The trickiest part is the 4th section as you need to move two fingers. Bring your first finger up to the E string and your pinky down to the A string 4th fret.

For the next set of chords, barre the 4th fret and use your ring finger for the 6th fret of the G string. Lastly, keep the barre and use your pinky on the 6th fret of the A string.
A|-----------2----4---|
E|-2----4-----4----2--|
C|--3----3-----3----3-|
G|---4----4-----------|

A|------6----6----6---|
E|-4-----4----4----4--|
C|--4-----4----4----4-|
