Bombay Bicycle Club – Always Like This

Always Like This

I was immediately into these guys as soon as I heard them and I have being a fan ever since. They have consistently put out fantastic albums. Their debut album had some great instrumentation on it. Let’s learn to play Always Like This on the ukulele.

What Are We Learning To Play?

Below is a video of what you will be able to play by the end of this post.

Ukulele Tabs

Although I’m using a low G in the video, you can easily use a normal high G ukulele too. The notes in blue are what you should play if you are not using a low G.

This riff itself is kinda fiddly. We can make it much easier on ourselves by preparing our fingers for what’s coming. After you have played the first 2 notes, you then want to barre the bottom three strings on the 4th fret. Use your pinky finger to pluck the 8th on the A and perform a pull off. You barred finger will already be there for the pulled off note.

A |------8p4---4-6---|-------8p4-------|------8p4---4-6---|-------8p4-------|
E |----------4-------|---------------4-|----------4-------|---------------4-|
C |-1-1--------------|-5-5-------5-6---|-1-1--------------|-5-5-------5-6---|
G |-6-6--------------|-----------------|-6-6--------------|-----------------|
