I See Fire

I See Fire

Ed is one of them fellas that I just love. He has been working on his musical endeavours pretty much since he left his mum’s womb. Not only is his work ethic remarkable, but his songwriting ability is equally as good. His guitar work on I See Fire had my ears prickling the first time I heard it. Let’s learn to play it on the ukulele.

Cool fact about Ed Sheeran. He is a huge fan of the ukulele and has been playing it since he was 7. You can see footage of him strumming a little soprano in the video for Photograph.

What Are We Learning To Play?

Below is a video of what you will be able to play by the end of this post.

Ukulele Tabs

This riff can be challenging if you are a beginner. The opening lick needs to be played in one smooth motion. That’s a combination of 9 notes in roughly one second. We are only plucking 5 of the notes and the rest of them will be created through hammer-ons, pull-offs and slides. I have bolded the notes that you need to play.

One other thing to bear in mind is that you only need to be using your first and ring finger on the fretting hand for the opening lick.
